Service Description
Do you ever feel unsettled, on edge, unable to rest and relax despite retraining? Maybe you have to keep busy or the opposite, dissociate and feel numb. Are you constantly focussing on what people think of you, replaying conversations in your mind, or noticing subtle changes in people and your environment? These may be signs that the Safety Seeker is working overtime. Have you met your Safety Seeker part, and how it is trying to keep you safe in a world or a body that doesn't ever feel safe? The Safety Seeker part of us has a wonderful job to do, noticing things that may be a threat to us, so we can use our skills and connections to deal with whatever is present. But when a Safety Seeker moves from appropriate vigilance and empowerment to hypervigilant, isolated, and detached from its own power to cope, we may experience the exhaustion and physical symptoms that come from staying in this hyperarousal state for unnatural lengths of time. My own Safety Seeker got trapped in this hypervigilant state, and came to believe that it’s not safe to feel safe. Meeting this part and gaining insight into its feelings, beliefs and behaviors was a pivotal part of my own healing journey, and I will be bring these insights and my training as a Gupta Program coach to you in a workshop on how we can empower our rewiring of this part to powerfully restore resilience to the nervous system. A Safety Seeker may not be initially able or willing to change its beliefs without first being rewired to experience comfort, support, protection and then move into practicing what safety may feel like when it’s ready. Learn how to use your GP tools to work gently and lovingly with this highly skilled and active part. It has been saving your life for a long time. Now it’s time to rebalance it to focus its skills and knowledge on thriving. The online session can be taken live or purchased as a recording to engage with in your own time.
